Willis "Bill" Henry Awtrey

Willis Henry "Bill" Awtrey, 83, of Siler City died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Chatham Hospital.

Mr. Awtrey was born in Blount County, Alabama on June 29, 1933 the son of Henry and Leta (Robertson) Awtrey. Bill was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He an active member of Loves Creek Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon.  He had also served on the building\ grounds and cemetery committee for several years. Bill was a building contractor. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Thomas Awtrey; his parents; brother, Grant Awtrey.

He is survived by two daughters, Audrey  Devine and husband, John of Belmont; Lynn Colquitt and husband, Joe of McDonough, GA; one son, Chris  Awtrey and wife, Leanna of Siler City; one sister: Barbara Champion of Cleveland, AL; one brother: Gary Awtrey of Cleveland, AL; grandchildren, Drew and Lauren Devine, Caroline and Chrissy Colquitt, Hunter Awtrey, Caleb Alcorn and Jace Awtrey; great-granddaughter, Blakely Devine.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 2, 2017 from 4:00-5:00 PM at Loves Creek Baptist Church, 14680 US 64 W, Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow at 5:00 PM with Rev. Kenny Black officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
