Walter William Armstrong

Walter William Armstrong, Sr., 87, of Siler City, NC, died Thursday June 2, 2016 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, NC. Mr. Armstrong was born October 25, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Harry Howard and Isabella Clementine Campbell Armstrong. Walter was an Investment Executive, served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of St. Julia Catholic Parish. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan W. Armstrong of Siler City, daughters, Margaret Ann Wood and husband, Craig Brooks Wood of Siler City, Catherine Kennelly and husband, Craig of Garden City, NY, sons, Wally Armstrong and wife, Amy of Silk Hope, Tommy Armstrong, Michael Armstrong and wife, Dianne of Siler City and brother, Howard Armstrong of Wantagh, NY. A visitation will be Monday June 6, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Ave. Siler City. A mass will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Julia Catholic Parrish, 210 Harold Hart Road, Siler City, officiating will be Father Andy Santamauro OFM Conv. Burial will follow in the Chatham Memorial Park in Siler City.
