Virginia Maxine Ray

Virginia Maxine Warrell Ray, 83, of 12925 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek died Friday, December 2, 2011 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Ray was born March 23, 1928 the daughter of Duff Austin and Jessie Estell (Boyd) Warrell. Mrs. Ray was born in Center, Mississippi and was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a nursing facility. She was of the Baptist faith. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ray, sons, Dalton Edward Johnston, Jr. and George Ray and a brother, Whitt Warrell. She is survived by four daughters: Martha Wolf of Bear Creek, NC, Patricia M. English of Raleigh, NC, Louise Chapman of New London, NC, Betty Sue Alford of Philadephia, MS and four sons: Clarence Ray of DeRidder, LA, Kenny Ray of Brandon, MS, Jerome Ray of Brandon, MS, Raymond Ray of Raleigh, MS; one sister: Dorothy Crimm of Meridian, MS and one brother: Louis Warrell of Brandon, MS; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, December 5, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel, 3434 North Liberty Street, Canton, MS. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel, 3434 North Liberty Street, Canton, MS. Burial will be in Canton City Cemetery.
