Tommy James
Teague
Feb 25, 1952 — Oct 18, 2026
Siler City
Tommy “James” Teague, 74, of Siler City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Born on February 25, 1952, in Chatham County, North Carolina, Tommy was the son of the late James Adam Teague and Nancy Wicker Teague.
Tommy dedicated much of his life to the trucking industry, a profession he loved deeply. He retired from David Phillips Trucking after more than 20 years of faithful service and spent over 40 years behind the wheel throughout his career. He worked for numerous trucking companies over the years, earning the respect and friendship of fellow drivers and coworkers along the way. Tommy's happiest times were spent traveling the great American highways, living the dream he cherished and embracing the freedom of the open road. Trucking was not just his occupation; it was his passion and way of life for him and his cousins Reid and Jimmy.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his half-sister, Shirley Teague Gabard.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two nieces, Sherry Welch and Sandra Stanley; and his very best friends Dallas and Jan Berentis. He is also survived by numerous cousins, extended family members, and many friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
A graveside service will be held at Loves Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Service arrangements and the date and time of the service will be announced at a later date.
Tommy will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of trucking, and the countless miles he traveled while pursuing the life he loved. His memory will continue to ride on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rest easy, Tommy. The road stretches on, and your journey will never be forgotten.
