Tammy Darlene McPherson (Harris)
Tammy McPherson, 63, of Snow Camp, North Carolina, passed away the morning of Friday, June 12th peacefully in her home, with her devoted husband at her side.
Born on April 11, 1963, in Asheboro, North Carolina, Tammy was the daughter of Alfred Thomas “Tommy” Harris and Golda Rae Harris Morton.
Tammy lived a life marked by creativity, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the people and experiences that filled it. She spent nearly twenty years as an engineer with Shoffner’s Industries and briefly worked with Antilles Seaplanes before coming home to help build & develop their Angus and Simmental cattle operation.
She had a love for music, photography, and capturing the beauty in everyday moments. Whether behind a camera, enjoying music, or creating memories with family and friends, Tammy embraced life with passionate spirit. She was known for doing things her own way and finding joy in unexpected places. Among her many talents, she could even ride a unicycle, play guitar, & pick a banjo. She grew up a self described “tomboy,” that enjoyed riding motorcycles. She enjoyed woodworking, drawing, and was most at peace around the farm mowing grass and having her round bale meetings with her bulls.
Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Stephen “Steve” Herbert McPherson; her mother, Golda Rae Harris Morton; her sons, Jason Thomas McPherson (wife: Amanda McPherson) and Stephen “Heath” McPherson (Lisa McPherson); and her cherished grandchildren, Hayleigh, Hayden, Liam, Lorelei, Riley, and Hope McPherson. She is also survived by very special friends Caleb and Corissa Ward and their children, Colt, Gunner, and Autumn, who held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Thomas “Tommy” Harris.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City, North Carolina. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, in the chapel at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, followed by burial at the family farm in Snow Camp, North Carolina.
