Susan Buckner Coggins

Susan Buckner Coggins, 61, of Siler City died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Westfield Rehabilitation and Health Center, Sanford.

Mrs. Coggins was born in Chatham County on July 22, 1956 the daughter of Tull H. and Gertrude (Johnson) Buckner. Susan was a member of Plainfield Friends Meeting, a 1974 graduate of Jordan Matthews High School and Central Carolina Community College. She was a caregiver for her parents when their health began to fail. Susan enjoyed shopping, trips to the beach, gardening and caring for her pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Hart; brothers-in-law, Billy Corder, Wayne Cockman, Jack Elkins; sister-in-law, Pat Buckner.

She is survived by one son, Patrick Coggins of Sanford; one daughter: Stephanie Coggins Motley and husband, Eric of Pfafftown; four sisters: Cora B. Elkins, Louise B. Adcock and husband, Archie, Patsy B. Corder all of Siler City and Bronna B. Cockman of Bear Creek; two brothers: Ronnie Buckner and wife, Nannette and Mitchell "Mickey" Buckner and wife, Linda all of Siler City; grandchildren, Hannah and Baylee; brother-in-law, Jimmy Hart and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 22, 2017 from 12:45 – 1:45 PM at Plainfield Friends Meeting, 1956 Plainfield Church Road, Siler City. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Plainfield Friends Meeting with Josh Conrad and Wayne Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
