Shirley Jean Johnson Smith

Shirley Johnson Smith, 74, of Siler City died Monday, February 6, 2017 at Siler City Center. Mrs. Smith was born in Chatham County on January 7, 1943 the daughter of Paul S. and Olline (Phillips) Johnson. Shirley was a homemaker and a member of Hickory Mountain Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and a history buff. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lane Smith and her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Kim Smith Dumke of Siler City; grandson, Logan Dumke; brother, Larry Johnson of Charlotte. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Chatham Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
