Sherrill Dean Phillips

Sherrill Dean Phillips of Staley died Monday, November 21, 2011 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Phillips was the son of William Gaston and Clarice (Foster) Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a native of Chatham County, a graduate of Jordan Matthews High School and attended North Carolina State University. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a project manager for commercial building construction. Sherrill was a member of the Forest Oaks Country Club for twenty years. He had a love of animals and was a member of several riding clubs. Sherrill was of the Protestant faith and a loving, caring husband and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Linville Phillips. He is survived by his wife: Nancy Phillips; a son Foster of the home and several cousins. The family will receive friends Friday, November 25, 2011 from 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC 27344. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery, N. Chatham Ave, Siler City. Nancy wishes to extend her thanks to all who have assisted her at this time.
