Sharon Gail Rhew McPherson

Sharon Gail Rhew McPherson, 66, of Valley Pine Lane, Sanford died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Siler City Center. Sharon was born in Guilford County on December 22, 1949, the daughter of Newton and Ruby (Maness) Rhew. Sharon was retired from Patriot Performance of Sanford, a certified NRA Instructor and N C Justice Department concealed firearm instructor, an N C hunter instructor. She loved to coach young shooters in sports activities and clay shooting. Sharon was a member of Euphronia Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gene Rhew; and a grandson, Josh Jackson. She is survived by her husband of 38 years: Tom McPherson, one step-daughter, Tina Staples and husband, John of Lexington; two sons: Bo Jackson and wife, Jenny of Biscoe, Patrick McPherson of Sanford; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one great-grandson and her canine companions, Lucky and Candy. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City and other times at 418 McPherson Lane, Siler City. A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Euphronia Presbyterian Church, 169 Euphronia Church Road, Sanford with Doug Poe officiating.
