Sara Madeline Joyce Elmore

Sara Madeline Joyce Elmore, 85, of Asheboro, went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at Alpine Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by family.

Sara was born April 29th, 1940, in Guilford County, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary Edwards Joyce. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Billy Hoyt Elmore.

Sara was a homemaker and worked as a salesclerk for Belk. She also worked for Farmers Alliance. She enjoyed painting and drawing. She was an awesome cook and loved making meals for her family. She enjoyed cutting hair. Sara was a true Christian and was kind to everyone. She was a member of Dove Christian Church.

Left to cherish Sara’s memory are her sons, Craig Elmore and his wife, Sherry of Bear Creek, Timmy Elmore and his wife, Janet of Ramseur, Richard Elmore and his wife, Debbie of Staley, Robert Elmore and his wife, Stephanie from Kernersville, and Charles Elmore and his wife, Shelby of Asheboro; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at 2 pm, at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Park. Services will be officiated by Reverend Bob Wachs.

Smith & Buckner Funeral Home will be assisting the Elmore family.
