Ruth Waltz Morrow

Ruth Waltz Morrow, 95, passed away peacefully at Alamance Regional Hospital on March 1., 2023.

She was born on May 6, 1927 in Ft. Mitchell Kentucky to Joseph and Mabel Crockett Waltz. 

Ruth graduated from Beechwood School in Ft. Mitchell and attended Christian College (now Columbia University) in Columbia, Missouri. 

After moving several times in NC while her husband completed his education on the GI Bill, they eventually settled in Snow Camp, NC in 1978.

Ruth was a homemaker and community servant. As a young mother, she lead Cub Scouts, Brownie Troops and volunteered at the school library. After the children were grown she became active in the NC Extension Community Association (formerly Extension Homemakers), where she served as President at State and National Levels.

She was also very involved in her church, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and serving as the librarian and secretary. She was Chairman of Christian Education and active in the Ellen Page Missionary Society. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert "Bob" Morrow, her daughter, Patricia Lynn Haywood, and grandson, Andrew Haywood.

She is survived by her son, Edward Morrow, Sr. and wife Ellen; grandsons, Edward Morrow, Jr. (Jennifer), and John Haywood (Satina); granddaughters, Sarah Ball (Martin), and Emily Morrow; and eleven great grandchildren, Lily and Isley Morrow, Khylanea, Sienna, Davonic, and Zayden Haywood, Andrew, Jenna, and Trent Ball, and Morgan and Tommy Haywood.

There will be a celebration of life at a date to be determined.
