Robert Lincoln Goodwin

Robert Lincoln Goodwin, Jr., 76, of 1836 Devils Tramping Ground, Bear Creek died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at his home. Mr. Goodwin was born March 7, 1935 in Apex, NC the son of Robert Lincoln and Margaret Johnson Goodwin, Sr. He was a retired construction worker, loved hunting, going to the beach and was a baseball sport fan, Robert was a member of the AKC and enjoyed breeding beagle dogs. He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Carolyn Hall Goodwin, one son, Ronald Lincoln Goodwin of Annapolis, MD; twin daughters, Sharon Goodwin Hensley of Asheboro, NC and Karen Dawn Goodwin of Centreville, MD; two grandchildren, Caroline Grace and Zane Robert Goodwin; a sister, Amanda Goodwin of Apex, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 7 to 9 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Sandy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, 715 Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek with Rev. J. R. Bouldin officiating.
