Patricia "Pat" Ann Moore Harris, 89, of Pittsboro, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 6, 2026. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family and friends.
Pat was born on October 19, 1936, in Southborough, MA, the daughter of Harriet Hathaway Moore and Harry Moore. The only girl of three brothers, she was a force to be reckoned with around their neighborhood growing up. She was a beautiful, tall, swoon worthy tomboy with jet black hair and size ten feet who cared more about basketball than boys. Her mischievous and witty nature remained with her throughout her life.
She ultimately captured the heart of a small-town southern boy who was stationed at the army base where she worked in Natick, MA. His name was Welford Harris. The young couple became engaged on Valentine's Day, married shortly after, and shared a wonderful 67 years of marriage. Together they built a beautiful life full of love and laughter and will spend eternity together in heaven.
Pat and Welford moved to North Carolina in 1955, where they established a home, built a business from the ground up, and raised their two children. She was a beloved member of Goldston United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed the simple things in life - watching basketball and baseball, riding around town and visiting her friends, eating ice cream, drinking a good cup of coffee with plenty of cream and "sugah." A social butterfly, she never met a stranger and never lost her Boston accent.
While Pat held many titles during her life, her most cherished titles were that of "Nama" and "Great Nama." She relished in the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind an incredible legacy of family and friends who feel incredibly blessed to have known her. Patricia will never be forgotten. Her love left an imprint that time can never erase, and her beautiful spirit will remain with us, always.
Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband, "Welford" Dalton Harris; her parents, Harriet Hathaway and Harry Moore; and brothers, Wallace Moore and Harry Moore Jr. She is survived by her brother, Frankie Moore and wife Suzanne Moore of Southborough, MA; daughter, Deborah Harris Bondurant of Pittsboro, NC; son Welford "David" Harris and wife Valerie of Siler City, NC; grandchildren, Welford "Dalton" Harris, II and wife Julia of Houston, TX; Alexandra Grace Evans and husband Bailey of Hampstead, NC; and Avery Elizabeth Harris of Raleigh, NC; and four great grandchildren, Ford, Will, Bailey, and Sam, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she considered family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 11:45 am until 12:45 pm at Goldston Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the church with Deacon Kim King officiating.
"A precious one from us is gone; a voice we loved is still. A place vacant in our home that can never be filled."
