Pamela M. Youngs Harrison passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 20, 2023. She was 88.

 

She was a devoted and loving wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma.

 

Pamela was born in Hempnall, England, on May 6, 1935. She met her husband Rodney K. Harrison while roller skating. They married on July 24, 1954, and started a life in the United States. They settled in Seaford, VA where they raised four children. She worked at the local elementary school cafeteria as well as the Seaford Country Market until retirement at 71 years old. She was active in her community, teaching Sunday school at Zion United Methodist church for 40 years. She was also a girl scout leader, and a member of the Seaford Women’s Club. She loved playing the organ at home, bowling and roller skating with family, playing Ruritan benefit bingo and scratching off lottery tickets. Swimming was always her favorite summer pastime.

 

She was predeceased in death by her Husband of 23 years, Rodney K. Harrison

and her parents, Andrew Sidney Youngs and Grace Ruth Youngs.

She is survived by her brother Bernard Youngs of Hempnall, England; and children Andrew Bruce Harrison (Carol) of Newport News, VA, Kathleen Michelle Hansen (Bud) of Siler City, NC, Christopher Robert Harrison (Stella) of Poquoson, VA, and Donna Laura Uzzell (Mark) of Devine, TX. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren- Michael, Laura, Jessica, Amber, Lindsey, Leah, Jennifer, Andy, Megan, Christopher Jr., Stephanie, Christopher, Carol, Clifford and 8 great grandchildren. Braelyn, Thomas, Bridget, Brady, Xander, Otis, Eddy, Zachary.

 

Pamela spent her last several years living in Silk Hope NC. with her daughter and son-in-law where she Attended Browns Chapel UMC in Pittsboro.

 

We want to thank her caregiver, Tracy, who was such a blessing to our family for almost 6 years.

 

We also want to thank our Hospice team for all the special care they provided over the last several months.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 7th at 2PM.

At Zion UMC in the church fellowship hall.
