Nancy Paschal Price

Nancy Paschal Price, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Price, her parents Wade and Mary Lee Paschal,Sr., and her beloved sisters, Matilda Carter and “Libby” Lindley. She is survived by her brother, Wade Paschal, Jr. (Sharon) Siler City; sisters-in-law Nancy Dunn, Siler City, and Lucinda Pinnock, Siler City; her sons: Thomas King Price, III (Donna) Siler City and Richard Bryant Price, and special friend, Kathy Hamm, Siler City; her daughters: Mary Price Lutz (Michael), Sanford and Camille Price House (Jeff), Pittsboro; her grandchildren: Austin House, Breanne Medlin (Derek), Hampton Price, Garrison Lutz (Rachel), Griffin Price, Madeline Huffman (Trevor), Paschal Lutz; great- grandchildren: Brody Price, Charlotte Medlin, Joanna Medlin, Harvey Huffman, and two great-grandchildren arriving in the Fall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was born in Chatham County, NC, on September 10,1932, to Wade and Mary Lee Paschal. She attended the University of North Carolina - Greensboro and graduated from Guilford College in 1984. She enjoyed a lifelong career as an administrative assistant for various small businesses and eventually retired after many years with the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Nancy was rooted in her Christian faith and attended Oakley Baptist Church for much of her life, and then she became a founding and active member of Fellowship Baptist Church for 50 years. Her life of service and leadership included numerous ministries within the church, disaster relief efforts, charitable volunteerism, battered women support, and countless donations to support the quality of life for those in need. Nancy was well-known for her delicious southern cooking. She delighted in sharing homemade meals and baked goods with others. Her generous spirit touched many people and organizations when a helping hand was needed, with no expectation of recognition or anything in return. She kept many thank you notes secretly tucked away - notes of gratitude for something thoughtful she had done, often behind the scenes.

Family was dear to Nancy’s heart, as evidenced by the pictures on her refrigerator and adorning every room. She enjoyed gathering for festive cookouts and reunions; celebrating when life was good and providing comfort when life was giving hard knocks. She had a soft-spot for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - always ready to give them hugs and treats. No matter how we knew her - as mama, grandma, granny, Aunt Nancy, Ms. Nancy, Ms. Price, Nan, etc. - we know we miss her greatly; and we rejoice knowing we will be reunited in Heaven one day because of our faith in Jesus Christ. Psalm 113:3, "From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised".

The body of Nancy Price will lie in repose June 13, 2025, from 1:00-5:00 PM at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City. A graveside service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church,120 Fellowship Church Rd, Siler City at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 14, 2025. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Paschal homeplace,1765 Wade Paschal Rd, Siler City, NC at 12:00 PM.

The family extends a special thank you to all those who lovingly cared for mom the last year: Kim Scott, Nancy Dunn, Peggy Beavers, and Ann Gwen.
