Melodi Ann Michael Thrift, 45, of 185 Boggs Thrift Trail, Siler City died Monday, , January 9, 2012 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Mrs. Thrift was born July 26, 1966 in Smithfield. Melodi was employed with the UNC Public Health System. She attended Rocky River Baptist Church and was a loving mother to her boys. Melodi was active in PTA and volunteered for other community activities. She is survived by her husband of 11 years: William Trent Thrift; three sons: Jimmy Wayne Worrells and wife, Karen, grandson, Memphis of Killeen, TX, Lars Ahren Thrift and Erik Thomas Thrift both of the home; mother and step-father, Patricia and Freddie Howell of Selma, NC; three sisters: Edie Michael of Selma, NC, Gina Lowery of Mooresville, NC, D'Ann Richard of Charlotte, NC and one brother: C. G. Howell of Princeton, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Rocky River Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 4436 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Rocky River Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Burriss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
