Mary Smith Morgan

Mary Smith Morgan, 59, of Charlie Cooper Road, Staley died Monday, July 16, 2012 at Hospice & Palliative Care Center Of Alamance-Caswell, Burlington. Mrs. Morgan was born September 2, 1952 daughter of Harvey and Fleda Gillespie Smith. She attended Shady Grove Baptist Church, Staley. She had been employed at A. J. Schneirson, Byrds Food Stores and worked for 17 years as office manager at Burlington Coat Factory. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and sisters-in-law, Juanita Smith and Treva Smith. She is survived by two sisters: Margaret Joyner and husband, Ed of Niceville, FL, Carolyn Brewer and husband, Clarence of Siler City, NC and five brothers: H. B. Smith, Jr. of Asheboro, NC, Charles Smith of Lumberton, NC, Paul Smith of Siler City, NC, Weldon Smith of Siler City, NC, Richard Smith of Siler City, NC; ten nieces and nephews; eleven great-nieces and nephews and her dogs Snoopy and BJ. The family will receive friends Friday, July 20, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 6853 Old Staley Rd., Staley with Rev. Michael Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
