Mary Lou Caldwell Burns, age 77, of Siler City, North Carolina, passed away on June 3, 2026, at Siler City Center.

Mary Lou was born on February 15, 1949, to the late Pauline Caldwell.

Mary Lou found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed coloring, reading, and watching her favorite soap operas. More than anything, she loved her family and dedicated her life to caring for them. She was a strong woman, the cornerstone of her family, and someone her loved ones could always depend on.

Her grandchildren were the center of her world. It was a cherished tradition that Friday nights were spent at Grandma's house, creating memories that her family will treasure forever. Mary was not only a mother and grandmother, but also a trusted friend, always ready with love, support, and encouragement. She worked hard throughout her life and made sure her family was always provided for and cared for.

In addition to her mother Pauline Caldwell, she was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Caldwell, and her brother, Charles Caldwell.

She is survived by her daughters, Christine Smith and Ellen Burns; grandchildren, Heather Semler, Megan Semler, Daniel "Dinkey" Semler, Alex Smith, Adam Smith, Joshua Burns, Matthew Hefner, Andy Hefner, and Jasmine Packer; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Wachs officiating.
