Marjorie Boyd Fields Buckner died Monday, February 20, 2012 at Siler City Care and Rehabilitation. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home. A chapel service will follow at 11:30 AM with the Dr. Tommy Steele, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Bonlee, NC. Margie was the youngest child of Robert Palmer and Nannie Mae Andrew Boyd, born on February 23, 1927 in Chatham County. She attended Siler City Chapel for many years prior to her illness. She loved the Lord and her family, She was an outstanding cook and was a 'special lady', touching many lives with her kindness and always had a smile for everyone. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Fields, Winfred E. Buckner and her son, Michael (Mike) Fields. She is survived by her daughter, Nannette Fields Buckner and husband, Ronnie of Siler City; sister, Louise B. Smith of Greensboro; daughter-in-law, Karen Fields of Bennett; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Buckner, Todd Buckner, Chad Fields, Chuck Fields and Carmen Fields; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Claire and Brooke Fields. Memorials may be made to the Bible Broadcasting Network, P O Box 7300, Charlotte, NC 28241-7300 or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1414 East 11th Street, Siler City, NC 27344.
