Marie Shelton Bray

Marie Shelton Bray, 100, of 187 Pine Forest Drive, Siler City died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Bray was born May 16, 1911 in Nashville, TN the daughter of Charles Anderson and Sadie (Bush) Shelton. In 1936 she married Bun Benton Bray, Jr. and they enjoyed 59 years together. She owned and operated Marie's School Of Dance. Marie led an active life that was full of many wonderful blessings. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995. She is survived by two daughters: Donna Bray Hilton of Fredericksburg, VA, and Bonnie Bray Griffin of Atlantic Beach, NC, grandchildren, Amanda W. Thomasson of Fredericksburg, VA, Shannon L. Clapp of Siler City, NC, Alison W. Diehl of Fort Rucker, AL, James Benton Gregory Williams of Fredericksburg, VA and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC 27344. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11:00 at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City with Rev. Tony Capehart officiating. A private family committal service will follow.
