Margaret Evelyn Garrett Moody

Margaret “Evelyn” Garrett Moody, 99, of Siler City, went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, August 31st, 2025, at Siler City Center.

Evelyn was born on April 23rd, 1926, in Alamance County, to the late William W. and Eula Holt Garrett. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marley Joseph Moody; her sons, Larry Moody, Monte Moody, and Danny Moody; her brothers, Jack, James, Bobby, & Robert “Hoover” Garrett; her grandson, Andy Moody; and her great grandson, Austin Parnell.

Evelyn worked in the cloth room as a mender at Collins & Aikman. She loved her family, and they were the most important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and making memories. She loved to cook for her family Sunday dinner every Sunday. She loved to go fishing and traveling to the mountains. She was always on the go. She was a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church and loved her church family.

She is survived by her son, Kenny Moody and his wife, Debra from Siler City; her daughter, Kathy M. Needham and her husband, Mark of Ramseur; her daughters-in-law, Kathy Moody of Carthage and Susan Moody of Longs, SC; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at 12:30 pm, at Rives Chapel Baptist Church cemetery. Reverend Bob Wachs will be officiating the service. A visitation will be held one hour prior, from 11-12 pm, to the service at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel.

Smith & Buckner Funeral Home will be assisting the Moody family.
