Joan McLaughlin Phillips

Joan McLaughlin Phillips, 84, of Courtland Village, Sanford died Friday, October 21, 2016 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford. Mrs. Phillips was born in Chatham County on May 27, 1932 the daughter of James D. and Bertha (Scott) McLaughlin. Joan was a member of Juniper Springs Baptist Church and retired from Hadley Peoples Manufacturing. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Calvin Phillips and her parents. She is survived by two daughters: Dianna Norris and husband, Gary of Colbert, GA, Delores Caviness and husband, Michael of Sanford, NC; grandchildren, Kiel and Ryan Norris; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Brooks and Benton Norris; one brother: Arthur McLaughlin of St. Augustine, FL. The family will receive friends Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
