Jerry Willis Moody

Jerry Willis Moody, 89, of Ramseur, went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Jerry was a lifetime resident of Chatham County.

Jerry was born in Chatham County on February 18th, 1936, to the late Charles Lewis and Argie Gaines Moody. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sylvia Teague Moody; his brothers, Van, Jimmy (Lucille), Randy, Larry, and Charles “Bill” Moody (Peggy).

Jerry was the owner/operator of Jerry Moody Trucking from which he retired. He loved driving. He was a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Don Moody Sunday School class and was an usher for the church. Left to cherish Jerry’s memory is his wife of 13 years, Ann Bell Moody of Ramseur; his son, Tommy Moody of Bear Creek; his daughters, Scarlett Moody Blue and her husband, Jim of Lobelia, NC, Sandra Moody Smith of Bear Creek, Susan Moody Tullis of Iowa, and Sheri Floyd and her husband, Scott of Ramseur; his ten grandchildren, Heather, Sonya, Krystle, Allison, Amanda, Stacy, Melissa, Jessica, Dalton, and Dillon; his 14 great grandchildren, Audrey, Malcolm, Walker, Angelei, Gunner, Stormy, Austin, Catherine, Lily, Jamie, Haley, Tyler, and Thailand, and Rowynn; his brother, Kenneth Moody of Siler City; and his dog, Daisy Mae.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 16th, 2025, at 11 am, at Sandy Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends and family after the service in the activity building at the church following the service.
