Jeannie Cockman Murchison, 63, of Goldston, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Jeannie was born in Chatham County on March 25, 1959,  the daughter of Allen Thomas and Betty Teague Cockman.

Jeannie cherished her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved going to the beach and watching the Carolina Tarheels play. She is preceded in death by her parents. 

She is survived by her sister, Penny C. Pavon and husband Ismael of Siler City; brother, Phil Cockman and wife Sandra of N. Myrtle Beach; nieces, Denise Watts and husband Page, and Victoria "Pepper" Pavon; nephew, Zach Pavon and wife Brianna; special cousins, Julie Martindale, Sherry Kivett, Susan Tullis and Scarlett Blue; uncle, Jerry Moody and wife Ann; and aunts, Maggie Cox, Frankie Mueller, and Shirley Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memorial Giving, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Penny Pavon. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 10891 Siler City-Glendon Road, Bear Creek, NC 27207 with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.
