Janet Rose Greig Kelo, 89, of Siler City, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at Dunmore Senior Living.

Janet was born on March 6th, 1936, in Cook County, IL, to the late James and Edna Krueger Greig. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie Kelo; her two children, Robin Kelo and Robert “Bob” Kelo; and her two sisters, Eilean and Barbara Greig.

Janet received her master’s degree in education and worked as a sixth-grade teacher until she retired. She loved painting and was well known for her paintings. She loved to travel and explore. Her biggest love was her family.

Left to cherish Janet’s memory are her son, Daniel Kelo of Carrboro; her daughter, Jennifer Kelo of Portland, OR; her two brothers, Terry Greig and his wife, Ruth of Wisconsin, Brian Greig of Florida; and her grandchildren, Isabella and Ayden Kelo, Rachel and Serene Azafrani, and Ian and Brielle Gulick.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
