James Alfred Stanley, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at home.

He was born on December 11, 1947, in Chatham County, and was the son of the late John Robert Stanley and Eula Purvis Stanley.

James was a retired pressman. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love for his family was the most important thing in his life.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, James Stanley.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Wanda Sue White Stanley; his sons, John Robert Stanley and Michael Stanley both of Siler City; and his daughter, Pamela Stanley (Tim Johnson) of Pittsboro.

He was a proud grandfather to Jordan Stanley, Codie Johnson, Jimmy Stanley, Makenly Stanley Johnson, Easton Johnson, and Kayla Stanley; and two great-grandsons, Levi Stanley and Kayden Moody.
