Hattie Kathryn Rogers Alston, 76, of Siler City, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023.

Mrs. Alston was born in Chatham County on September 20, 1947, to John and Lizzie Lindley Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alston; brothers, Doyel, Larrie, Lerry, and Johnnie Rogers; sisters, Beverly Mc Swain and Shirley Jackson.

Hattie was of the non-denominational faith. She worked for many years with A.J. Schneierson's and then as a custodian at Siler City Elementary School. Mrs. Alston loved reading and watching animal planet. She loved flowers.

Mrs. Alston is survived by her daughters, Penelope Alston and Amanda Ragland and husband, Quinterious, all of Siler City; son, Jeremy Alston of Elon; grandchildren, Amari Alston, Lindley Farrar, and Paisley Ragland; great grandchildren, Kamdyn, Kamryn, and Hayden Alston and Elijah Elvira; brother, Rachon (Lillie) Rogers, of Siler City; sister, Bernadette Patterson, of Siler City; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2:00PM  at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Barry Gray and Rev. Charles Tysor officiating.
