Frances “Frankie” Gaines Bridges, 89, of Oak Ridge, TN, formerly of Siler City, died Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Frankie was born in Chatham County on January 30, 1937, to John T. Gaines, Sr. and Mattie Hancock Gaines. She was a member of Loves Creek Baptist where she loved to sing in the choir.

Frankie is survived by her 3 children, Mike Bridges, Jeff Bridges and wife, Linda, and Gina Thomas and husband, Johnafred; her 4 granddaughters, Shannon Drye, Kendra Humble, Katherine Wynn, and Sarah Vick; and 6 great-granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlin Bridges; daughter-in-law, Jill Bridges; brothers, Oren, Alton, Fred, Bill and Johnny Gaines; and sisters, Mary Lee Powers, Louise McLaughlin, Betty Stone, and Ella Brower.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Loves Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, from 10:30 - 11:00 am. The graveside service will take place at 11:00 am, with Rev. John Klink, Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Loves Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff of both Meadow View Senior Living in Clinton, TN and The Courtyards Memory Care in Oak Ridge, TN for their loving care given to Ms. Frankie.
