Obituary

Floyd Hayes Jr., 84, of Siler City, died Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Floyd was born in Chatham County on May 14, 1942, to June Hayes and Ada Bailey Hayes. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was a faithful member of Saving Grace Baptist Church. He was a member of the Mustang Club in Siler City. He enjoyed repairing restoring and driving mustangs as well as playing the guitar and bird watching. He loved his church and his faith.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 28 years, Heidi Green Hayes; and daughters, Tina (Kevin) Pate and Heather Hayes; grandchildren, Hunter White and Morgan Shaw; great grandchildren, Waylon Shaw and Raylan Shaw. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmie (Karla) Hayes and sisters, Bulah Caviness and JoAnn Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Linda Lorraine and brother, Franklin D. Hayes.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Saving Grace Baptist Church, from 2:00-3:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at 3:00 PM with the burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor Chris Wood will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Saving Grace Baptist Church cemetery fund.
