Faydene Wilkie Goins

Faydene Wilkie Goins, 78, of Goldston died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at UNC Hospitals. Mrs. Goins was born in Chatham County on June 21, 1939 the daughter of Robert Odell and Janie Kate (Gaines) Wilkie. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she sang in the Adult Choir. Faydene was a devoted wife and caregiver, especially to her many nieces and nephews. She was a great cook and homemaker and was crafty in creating flower arrangements, pocketbooks and many other ways. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Faydene was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frederick Odell Wilkie; sister, Helen McDuffie; brother-in-law, Ray McDuffie.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years: Maua Goins; one sister: Dale Calcutt and husband, Jerry of Nashville, NC; one brother: Ronnie Wilkie and wife, Debbie of Goldston, NC; eight nieces and nephews; sixteen great nieces and nephews; two great-great nieces.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and at other times at the home of Ronnie Wilkie, Goldston. The funeral will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Goldston with Rev. Mike Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
