Evelyn Price Siler

Evelyn Price Siler, 94, of Airport Road, Siler City died Thursday, February 1, 2018.

Mrs. Siler was born in Chatham County on September 18, 1923 the daughter of Harrison and Emma (Watson) Price. Evelyn was a homemaker and had worked at Texfi Industries in Liberty and Siler City Mills. She was a member of Gees Grove AME Zion Church and sang in the choir.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy" Siler; daughters, Carolyn Evette Reives, Judy Siler, and Angel Faye Outen; son, Jimmy Lewis Siler; granddaughter, Nichole Siler; her parents and twelve brothers and sisters; son-in-law, Johnny Cheek.

She is survived by five daughters: Patricia S Newkirk (Charlie), Shirley Spencer (Robert) and Emma Cheek all of Ramseur, Linda S Murdock (Jimmy) of Franklinville, and Loretta Siler-Council (James) of Durham; five sons: William Siler, Jr of Siler City, Kenneth Siler (Jenny) of the Philippines, Sherman Siler of Ramseur, Jerry Siler (Natalie) of Ossining, New York and Randy Siler (Tracy) of Hampton, Virginia; two sisters, Blondean Jordan and Helen Glover both of Siler City; one brother: Jawayde Price of Siler City; thirty-six grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great granddaughter; son-in-law, Gary Reives of Siler City.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Gees Grove AME Zion Church, 245 Gees Grove Church Road, Siler City and at other times at the family home. The funeral will follow Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Gees Grove AME Zion Church with Rev. Edward Hill, III officiating. Burial will be the church cemetery.
