Emma Heading Bass, 78, of Siler City died Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Genesis Siler City Center.
Mrs. Bass was born August 15, 1938 in Franklin County, NC the daughter of Rufus P. and Lottie (Benton) Heading. She had been employed by Harris-Teeter as Deli Manager and was a member of Rocky River Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years. Emma enjoyed cooking and working in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James Heading, Brooks Heading and Callie Heading.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Henry B. Bass. Sr.; one daughter: Diane King of Randleman, NC; two sons: Henry B. Bass, Jr. and wife, Beth and Patrick K. Bass and wife, Manda both of Siler City, NC; sister, Talitha H. Strickland of Spring Hope; brother: Rufus K. Heading of Durham; grandchildren, Michelle Stanback and husband, Noxfer and Travis Turner of Asheboro and Callie Brauer of Siler City; great-grandchildren, Lillie Stanback and Terrill Holt of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Rocky River Baptist Church, 4436 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City. The funeral will follow Saturday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Greg Burriss officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
