Faye Ray McLaughlin, 73, of 1013 Candlewood Circle, Siler City died Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Siler City. Mrs. McLaughlin was born August 17, 1939 the daughter of John Van and Mary Gertrude (Harris) Ray. Mrs. McLaughlin was a native of Chatham County. Faye worked as a reception PBX operator at Chatham Hospital and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by father; John Van Ray, and husbands, Bobby Clark and R. D. Dorsett. She is survived by her husband: Daffy McLaughlin, sons: Donald and wife, Dela Clark of Snow Hill, NC, Gerald and wife, Javetta Clark of Bear Creek, NC, mother: Mary Gertrude (Harris) Ray, of Siler City, sister: Brenda Saunders of Staley, NC, step-daughter, Kathy and husband, Tim Gardner of Greensboro, NC; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Monday January 28, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday January 29, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, 1101 West Raleigh Street, Siler City with Rev. Clyde Denny and Rev. Jim Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1101 West Raleigh Street, P O Box 212, Siler City, NC 27344 or to Hospice of Alamance & Caswell Counties, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
