Edith Irene Jones Webster

Edith Irene Jones Webster, 95, of Bonlee died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Beacon Place Hospice, Greensboro. Mrs. Webster was born, October 29, 1916 in Stokesdale, the daughter of Buford and Elvie Lemons Jones. She was a homemaker, a member of Stokesdale Christian Church, faithfully attended Sandy Branch Baptist Church over 70 years until her health failed. She was a member of the Hazel Moody-Mary Margaret Dunn Sunday School Class. She loved gardening, flowers and looking after other family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Carrick Webster; sisters, Grace Hart, Ruby Jones, Iris Jones; brothers, Thurman Jones, William "Jerry" Jones, James "Jim" Jones, Donald "Donnie" Jones and Ira Jones. She is survived by one sister, Mattie Jones Browning of Stokesdale and one brother, Paige Jones and wife, Mary of Stokesdale and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 at 2:00 PM, in Sandy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Sanders and Rev. Tony Capehart officiating. Pallbearers will be Brantley Webster, Lowell Hart, Keith Walters, Cory Walters, Jon Garrett and Jonathan Bare with honorary pallbearer Dan Webster. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall, immediately following the committal service. Memorials may be made to Sandy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
