Edith Page Bray

Edith Mae Page Bray, 96, of Bear Creek died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Siler City Center. Mrs. Bray was born on October 1, 1919, in Bear Creek, NC, the daughter of Charlie H. and Melinda Callie (Yow) Page. Edith was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church, and a home maker. She loved to sew, quilting, gardening, canning, cooking, going out to eat and reading. Edith loved all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eli Bray, daughter, Virginia Vestal, son, Charles Edward Bray and a great-grandson, Noah Vestal. She is survived by daughter: Linda B .Brooks of Siler City; a son: Billy Joe Bray and wife, Carol of Siler City; sister: Myrtle Ruth Lowman of Bear Creek, daughter-in-law, Jane Thrift Bray of Bear Creek; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, June 13, 2016 from 6 - 8 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. Other times at the home of a grandson, Travis at 206 Lambert Chapel Road, Siler City. The funeral will be Tuesday June 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Brush Creek Baptist Church, 5345 Airport Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Dr. Patrick Fuller and Rev. Frank Taylor officiating.
