Donna Marie Spring Ring

December 6, 1958 — May 7, 2025

Siler City

Donna Marie Ring, 66, of Siler City, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Donna was born on December 6, 1958, in Allegany, New York, to the late Joseph F. Spring and Sara J. Spring. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger D. Ring.

Donna led a long and dedicated career, retiring after nearly 40 years with Harbor Federal Savings & Loan, where she served as Vice President of Escrow. After relocating to North Carolina, she continued her professional journey at Situs, where she held the position of Vice President of Compliance. Donna took great pride in her work and was deeply grateful for her colleagues and leadership at Situs, who became more than coworkers—they became family.

A faithful member of Mt. Vernon Springs Presbyterian Church in Siler City, Donna was actively involved in the Springs Committee and cherished attending Sunday School. Her church became another extension of her family, offering her friendship, purpose, and peace.

Donna’s joy was rooted in the people around her. Whether she was playing cards or board games, working on puzzles, gardening under the sun, or simply sitting quietly watching birds flit through her yard, she found happiness in the everyday—especially when it included the company of loved ones. She nurtured her garden and her relationships with equal care and love. Her kindness, gentle humor, and compassion touched all who knew her, and she continued to bring smiles to those around her even in her final days.

Left to honor and cherish Donna’s memory are her sister, Iva Spring Sweeney; her brothers, Doug Spring and Jim Spring; and her beloved children, Michelle Lynn Ring and Tony Dean Ring. Donna’s greatest joy were her grandchildren: Logan Joseph Mead, John Lucas Mead, Mia Marie Romanowicz, Rylan Dean Ring, Janelle Lauren Brown, Izabelle Yvonne Brown, and Mason Cole Ring.

A visitation to celebrate Donna’s life will be held at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel in Siler City on Wednesday, May 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may also be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to a charity of your choice. And perhaps most fittingly, you may pick a flower from your own garden to remember Donna—a simple act of beauty and kindness, just like her.

Smith & Buckner Funeral Home will be assisting the Ring family.

“In Every Bloom”

She walked in light, with hands that healed,

A gentle soul, a heart unsealed.

She found her joy in simple things—

The song a morning robin sings,

The laughter shared in games and grace,

The sunlit peace of her own space.

She planted love in rows and beds,

With flowers blooming where she tread.

And when the wind would touch her face,

She’d smile, as if the world found place.

A puzzle solved, a kindness shown,

She built her life in love alone.

She gave her all in work and care,

But more than that—she was just there.

For every hug, for every need,

She lived in quiet, noble deed.

And even now, though she is gone,

Her garden of love lingers on.

So plant a bloom, or watch the sky,

Or smile when birds go sweeping by.

For Donna lives in all that’s kind—

In every heart she leaves behind.
