Don Richard Morris, Sr.

Don Richard Morris, Sr, 73, of Siler City died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Chatham Hospital.

Mr. Morris was born in Monroe County Pennsylvania on November 7, 1944 the son of Lester and Frances (Courtright) Morris. He was self-employed as a horse farmer,  had worked with the SPCA rescuing horses, was a member of the Siler City Presbyterian Church and retired from the Army Reserves.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Lester Morris; brother, Ernie Schoonover; sister, Diane Schoonover; great-granddaughters, Elise and Abigail Smith.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce (Kresge) Morris; mother, Frances (Courtright) Morris; children, Don Morris, Jr. and wife, Dana, Lelani Smith and husband, Clinton, Charles Morris and wife, Alice, Aaron Morris and wife, Janin all of Pennsylvania; step-children, Philip, Robert, Brian Pope, Michael and Mark Capone and Michelle DiMeo and husband, Luigi brothers, George Morris and James Schoonover; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Siler City Presbyterian Church, 720 W. 3rd St., Siler City, NC. A memorial service will follow Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Siler City Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard LaDew officiating.
