Dean Hefner, 69, of Siler City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2026, at UNC Hospital in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Born on January 19, 1957, at Fort Hood, Texas. He spent his life as a hardworking welder, dedicating more than 31 years of service to Tucker Welding. Known for his strong work ethic and dependability, Dean worked tirelessly to provide for his family, always placing the needs of others before his own.
While work was an important part of his life, family was his greatest treasure. Dean was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. A simple and humble man with a heart of gold, he found his greatest joy at home surrounded by those he loved. He was an avid wrestling fan and enjoyed spending four-wheeling time whenever he had the chance. Though he worked long hours throughout his life, he never lost sight of what mattered most: caring for and providing for his family.
Preceded in death by his father, Dewey Calvin Hefner, Jr.; two brothers, Dewey “Butch” Dale Hefner and Tony Dwight Hefner.
Dean is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Blanche Myers Hefner, of the home; daughter, Nikki Hefner Jordan and husband Michael, of Bear Creek, North Carolina; sons, Dean Hefner, of Siler City, North Carolina and Wayne Myers and wife Michelle, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; his mother, Dixie Holt, of Siler City, NC grandchildren, Randa Hefner, Elizabeth Myers, Taylor "JT" Myers, Chastity Rachel, Carmen Hefner, and Tony Hefner, along with two additional grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Storts of Garner, North Carolina, and Kim Brewer of Ramseur, North Carolina; brother, David Hefner of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and many other extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Dean will be remembered as a true family provider, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man whose kindness, humility, and selflessness touched everyone who knew him. His legacy of hard work, loyalty, and love for family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
"A life well lived is measured not by what we gain, but by the love we give to others."
Dean's memory will forever be treasured by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the residence 284 Bruce Phillips Road, Siler City, North Carolina, 27344.
