Obituary

Crystal D. Elkins, 46, of Sanford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Crystal was born on Tuesday, November 27, 1979, to the late Donnie Stephen Elkins and Lou Wilkie Elkins Bullis in Moore County, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, Crystal was preceded in death; her paternal grandparents, Vernon and Veleria Elkins; her maternal grandparents, John and Betty Wilkie; by her aunts, Sue Wilkie and Jamie Wilkie; and her cousins, Brian Moore and Russell Moore.

She was a caring, sweet, and loving person who always put others before herself. Crystal had a heart of gold and was known for the love and kindness she showed to everyone around her.

Crystal had a special love for flowers of all kinds. She had a true green thumb and seemed to have a special gift for making anything grow. Her love of flowers became an important part of her life and career. Her first job was at Dale's Florist and Greenhouse, where she worked her way up to become assistant manager.

Crystal leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Joshua Lomax, of the home; her brother, Jimmie Don Bullis Jr., of Decatur, Georgia; aunts, Jan Wilkie Moore of Goldston, North Carolina, and Ann Elkins Keck of Bear Creek, North Carolina; and cousin, Jason Nunn.

Crystal will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and love of flowers will remain a beautiful part of the memories she leaves behind.
