Bruce Eugene Porch

Bruce Eugene Porch, 80, of Siler City died Monday, February 27, 2017 at UNC Hospitals. Mr. Porch was born in Caldwell County on November 2, 1936 the son of Geter R. and Lucille (Winkler) Porch. Bruce was a lifelong member of Loves Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Adult Men's Sunday School Class and was currently attending First Baptist Church of Siler City. He was employed by Western Auto Distributions as a truck driver with twenty-five years of service and was recognized with several safe driving awards. Bruce was a workaholic who loved to spend time in his shop, working in his yard and working in his vegetable garden. He enjoyed traveling, trips to Badin Lake, watching his granddaughters cheerleading and his great-grandchildren play t-ball. He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Jenny Q. Porch; two daughters: Donna P. Tucker and husband, Mike of Raleigh and Missy P. Kennedy of Siler City; grandchildren, Tracy T. Bullock (Chris) of Fairfax, VA, Meredith T. Mallory (David) of Raleigh, Christopher Tucker (Katie) of Greensboro, Leslie K. Wilkie (Drew) of Siler City, Jennifer K. Eu (Ryan) of Herndon, VA; great-grandchildren, Caroline Mallory, Claire Mallory, Tucker Bullock, Gray Bullock, Brennen Wilkie, Braylen Wilkie, Jackson Tucker, and Reagan Tucker; one sister: Alice P. Yow (Roland) of Cary; one brother: Lewis Allen Porch. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Loves Creek Baptist Cemetery, Siler City.
