Bronna Cheek Fields

Mary Bronna Cheek Fields, 87, of 785 Vander Oldham Road, Bear Creek died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Fields was born in Chatham County on August 3, 1924 the daughter of John Wesley and Maude (Tally) Cheek. She was a homemaker and a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church where she served as custodian for more than twenty years. Bronna was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Jackson "Orb" Fields; son-in-law, Rufus Owens and brother, Coy Cheek. She is survived by two daughters: Jane F. Owens of Goldston, NC, Audrey F. Holt of Bear Creek, NC and one son: Eddie J. Fields and wife, Pam of Bear Creek, NC; grandchildren, Tammy O. Kirkman and husband, Wade of Goldston, NC, Keith Owens and wife, Tamara of Bear Creek, NC, Frankie Williamson and wife, Gayla of Siler City, NC, Ritchie Holt and wife, Christy of Bear Creek, NC, Justin Fields and wife, Rae of Bear Creek, NC, Kyle Fields of Bear Creek, NC; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Hensley, Courtney and Colby Williamson, Abbie and Andy Holt, Kent and Jackson Owens. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Monday, March 5, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Bear Creek Baptist Church, 1278 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Kirk Parrish and Rev. David Hicks officiating.
