Bobby Eugene McMillan, 89, of Siler City, went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, June 30th, 2025, at Hospice of Randolph County, surrounded by family.
Bobby was born in Surry County on May 17th, 1936, to the late Carlis and Blanche Ilabell Draughn McMillan. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years Betty Beal McMillan; his sister, Fairbell McMillan Pigford; and his brothers, Roger McMillan, Calvin Gilmer McMillan, Howard McMillan, and Jimmy McMillan.
Bobby served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for 2 years. He was then in the Army Reserves for six years. He was a subtle mechanical genius and loved mechanizing. He was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church where he was in the church choir and the Men’s Sunday School class. In his spare time, he loved gold panning and talking about his grandchildren. Bobby liked to watch baseball and research Civil War history. He was very active outside and had fun searching for Bigfoot. Bobby loved his family and spending time with them making memories.
Left to cherish Bobby’s memory are his two sons, Michael McMillan and his wife, Jamie of Randleman, and Jon McMillan and his wife, Tracey of Siler City; and his grandchildren, Ian, Maggie, and Ellie McMillan and Hunter Strickland.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7th, 2025, at 11 AM, at Brush Creek Baptist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Services will be officiated by Reverend Jeff Fletcher.
Smith & Buckner Funeral Home will be assisting the McMillan family.
