Billie Jean Pendergrass

Billie Jean King Pendergrass, 76, of 176 Providence Church Road, Siler City died Thursday, December 14, 2017.

Mrs. Pendergrass was born in Guilford County on April 19, 1941, the daughter of William and Gracie Mae Watkins King. Billie was a member of Providence Independent Methodist Church and had worked at Stout Furniture in assembly. Billie enjoyed reading, crocheting, flower gardening, trips to the lake and fishing.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Margie Hopkins, Virginia Louis, Cathy Falone and Vi Stum.

She is survived by two daughter: Marissa May Wilson and husband, Darrel of Whitsett, Sherry Gwyn of Liberty; son, Alton May and wife, Cherise of Whitsett;  one sister: LuAnn Cummings and husband, Fred of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Lee and Frankie Jackson, Landon Saunders, Joey Gwyn, William and Chris May, Brandon and Dustin Scott; great-grandchildren, Triston, Brianna, Ashley, Dalton, Carter Jackson, Betty Saunders, Kadence, Tucker, Levi, Wyatt May and Colton Scott; great-great-grandson, Dawson Goodacre; step daughter, Kathy Scott and husband, Jeff of Bennett; step son, Eric Pendergrass and wife, Dawn of Bear Creek; step grandhildren, Wendy, Blake, Erica, Phillip and E. J.; step great-grandchildren, Stephen, Liam, Hunter and Kiley;

The family will receive friends Monday, December 18, 2017 from 6:30-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, and other times at the family home.. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 3:30 PM at Providence Independent Methodist Church, 905 Providence Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Brian Caldwell officiating.
