Ruehle
Jun 7, 1940 — Jun 24, 2026
Beverly Ann Ruehle
Beverly Ann Ruehle, lovingly known as “Bev” to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice Home in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
Born on June 7, 1940, in Bucyrus, Ohio, Beverly was the daughter of the late Robert and Esther (Ulmer) Oberlander. She grew up in Bucyrus and married the love of her life, Roger Ruehle, on October 2, 1960. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and community. Roger preceded her in death on July 30, 1991.
Beverly is survived by her four children: Tom (Nikki) Ruehle of Bucyrus, Ohio; Mike (Shawn) Ruehle of McDonald, Pennsylvania; Cindy (Todd) Miller of Woodstock, Georgia; and Lynda (Doug) Burke of Bear Creek, North Carolina. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Jordan Ruehle, Vincent (Chelsea) Ruehle, Courtney (Dylan) Allison, Faith (Evan) Hall, Morgan (Justin) Basinger, Carson (Brittany) Miller, Jackson Miller, and Shelton (Mackenzie) Burke. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Alice Ruehle, Beckam Basinger, Myla Miller, Maclane Miller, and Hunter Burke. She is further survived by her sister, MaryLou (Bill) DeJonge, and her brother, Gary (Van) Oberlander.
In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Dyer, and her infant granddaughter, Jessica Ruehle.
Beverly spent more than eight decades in the Bucyrus area before relocating to North Carolina to be closer to family. A faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, she dedicated much of her life to serving others through volunteer work and community involvement. She rarely turned down an opportunity to help someone in need and was known for her generous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering willingness to lend a hand. Bev loved to travel, explore new places, and create lasting memories with those she loved. Above all, she treasured time spent with family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense pride and joy, and she cherished every opportunity to celebrate their lives and accomplishments.
A memorial service celebrating Beverly’s life will be held at Bear Creek Baptist Church in Bear Creek, North Carolina. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Roger, during a graveside service at Brokensword Cemetery in Ohio at a later date.
Though she will be deeply missed, Bev’s legacy of faith, kindness, service, and love will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
Smith & Buckner is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Ruehle.
