Betty Jean Cox Overman

Betty Jean Cox Overman, 83, of 694 Mt Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Overman was born in Randolph County on June 23, 1928. She was a member of Hickory Mountain Baptist Church and retired from Kellwood where she was an instructor for over 45 years. She is survived by her husband 64 of years: Calvin Leon Overman and one son: Charles Leon Overman and wife, Beth of Siler City, NC; four sisters: Flossie Cox of Ramseur, NC, Peggy C. Brown of Franklinville, NC, Patty C. Fowler of Asheboro, NC, Margaret C Williamson of High Point, NC; grandchildren, Charles Richard Overman and wife,Courtney and Angel Marie Marsh and husband, Jon and three great-grandchildren, Ava Overman, Piper Overman and Layla Marsh. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Hickory Mountain Baptist Church, 1094 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City with Rev. Val Chadwick officiating.
