Betty " Dot" Davis McPherson

Betty "Dot" Davis McPherson, 86, of McPherson Lane, Siler City died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur. Mrs. McPherson was born in Chatham County on August 1, 1930 the daughter of William H. and Clady (Poe)Davis. Dot was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, quilting and time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel "Dave" McPherson and granddaughter, Kimberly McPherson. She is survived by one daughter: Patricia M. Phillips and husband, Merle of Siler City; one son: Jerry Lane McPherson and wife, Joyce of Pleasant Garden; one brother: Clyde Davis and wife, Treva of Siler City; grandchildren, Jerry Lane McPherson, Jr of Greensboro, Lori P Shell and husband, Gray of Waxhaw, Brent Phillips and wife, Sharon of Bear Creek; step-grandchild, Carol Henderson of High Point; great-grandchildren, Graham Shell, Grace Shell, Noah Shell, Kallie Phillips, Kolton Phillips; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Davis of Siler City and a host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at the family home. The funeral will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Jim Folks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
