Obituary

Ashlea Ann Taylor, 37, of Goldston, North Carolina, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of family after a courageous journey through life’s challenges.

Born February 24, 1989, Ashlea was a beloved daughter, mother, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend whose strength, resilience, and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her. Despite the hardships she faced, Ashlea chose to fill the lives of others with laughter, kindness, love, and lasting memories.

More than anything, Ashlea loved being a mother. Her son, Ashton Taylor, was the center of her world and her greatest joy. She treasured every moment spent with him and poured endless love into being his mom.

Ashlea loved taking selfies, making memories, and bringing smiles to those around her. Her smile could brighten even the darkest days. Family meant everything to Ashlea, especially her cousins, whom she lovingly called her “OG Crew” — her “Original Best Friends.”

She is survived by her beloved son, Ashton Taylor; mother, Brenda Taylor; father, Darryl Taylor and wife Jeane; boyfriend, Chris Saunders; aunts, Doris Ann McMurray, Frankie Beeler, and Connie Ortiz; her uncle, Michael Taylor; cousins Kerrie White and husband David and children Layne and Libbie; Steven Beeler and husband Michael and their three children; Kristina Schell and husband Greg and children Daniel and Molly; Johnny Ortiz and wife Lisa and son Steven; Kristopher McMurray and girlfriend Rose and children Ella and Lily; Michelle Taylor; Jennifer Ortiz; and Cheyanne Edalgo.

Ashlea was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joyce and Frank Atkinson; paternal grandparents, Judy Wilkerson and Tommy Taylor; uncles Steve Beeler and Lupe Ortiz; and aunt, Donna Zebraski.

A Celebration of Life honoring Ashlea will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Goldston Methodist Church, 185 Hillcrest Avenue, Goldston, North Carolina, with Pastor Kerry Wood officiating.
