Amy Lois Neal Oldham, age 82 of Bear Creek, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023.
Lois was born in Chatham County, on November 26, 1940, to Willis Chaffin and Jessie Eva McKenzie Neal. Mrs. Oldham was a member of Fair Promise UMC, in Glendon where she served on various committees. Lois graduated with the first graduating class of Chatham Central High School. She was employed with Chatham Motors and a telephone operator for several years. She went on to be City Clerk for the Town of Sanford, where she worked for many years. Later in life she worked for the Moore County Department of Aging. At First UMC in Siler City she served as the finance secretary for several years.
In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her son: Timmy Oldham, sisters: Beatrice Beal and Bobbie Phillips.
Lois is survived by her sons: Jeffrey Todd Oldham of Bear Creek and Marty Alan Oldham of Siler City; sisters: Ann Thomas and husband Larry of Bear Creek, and Marie Barber of Carthage.
Mrs. Oldham will lie in repose on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from noon to 5:00 pm. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2023 with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm at Fair Promise UMC with Rev. Tom Hallberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
