Allene “MawMaw” Fields Brown, 93, of Bear Creek, went to her Heavenly home Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, at home surrounded by family members.
Allene was born in Chatham County on July 9th, 1932, to the late William “Will” and Lora Burke Fields. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Allene is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph Wayne Brown of the home; her son, David Glenn Brown and his wife, Sherra; her daughter, Connie Sue Brower and her husband, Billy; her seven grandchildren, Kelly Brower (Ricky), Brittany Bristow and her husband, Eric, Preston Brown and his wife, Dixie, Mariah Waters and her husband, Gabriel, Coty Smith, Sadie Smith, and Ammie Smith; her seven great grandchildren, Ricky, Bill, Kimberly, Jacob, Skyler, Brooks, and Danielle;
Allene was of the Baptist faith and attended Oakley Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 19th, 2025, at 2 PM, at Oakley Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, October 18th, 2025, from 7 – 9 PM, at Smith & Buckner Chapel. Services will be officiated by Reverend Jeff Johnson.
